Overview
The Youth Treasure Vault Program is a comprehensive 4-week youth financial literacy initiative designed to build foundational financial knowledge in an engaging and interactive environment. Delivered best in person and in a cohort style, participants will explore essential financial concepts, including wants vs. needs, income vs. expenses, identifying values, understanding credit vs. debit, goods vs. services, delayed gratification, confident money decision-making, entrepreneurship, savings strategies, and early investing knowledge.
Objectives
The goal is to equip youth with essential financial literacy concepts, fostering their understanding of fundamental principles like saving, spending, and investing. By encouraging creativity and entrepreneurship, we aim to inspire young participants to explore innovative ideas and take initiative in their financial journeys. This foundational knowledge will empower them to make informed financial decisions and build a solid base for their future financial success.
Outline
Throughout the program, students will engage in weekly activities that build upon previous lessons, fostering a deeper understanding of the 3 pillars of money: save, share, and spend.
The program will culminate in a celebration and certificate ceremony, recognizing the achievements of the participants. Additionally, entrepreneurial-minded students will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas to potential small donors or sponsors for support.

Introduction to Financial Literacy (Wants vs. Needs, Income vs. Expenses)
Week 2:
Foundations of Saving and Investing
Week 3:
Credit vs. Debit, Goods vs. Services
Week 4:
Entrepreneurship and Financial Decision Making
Final Day:
Celebration, Certificate Presentation, and Entrepreneurial Pitches
*Age group: Typically targeted towards middle to high school students (ages 12-18). No prior financial education required.
